Sometimes, it's important to remember our own privilege and not judge everything that other people have done in the past. It could be because of money, mental health, physical health, etc.
I try to remember it when I talk here, but I know I often fail. I'm always very thankful to people who tell me.
I grew up with a Conservative dad (who still think he's barely "centrist"). When Québec's students fought and protested about our tuition getting more expensive... I thought they were being ridiculous. I thought some of my friends were being ridiculous. "Our tuition is so low already, why are they even complaining. I paid mine."
Looking back, I'm pretty horrified at some of the views I held. I'm very thankful that people don't judge me for that now.
Changing today is better than never changing. Don't block positive change because people weren't perfect before.
